MILWAUKEE – Pairings have been released for next year's City / Suburban Classic at Wisconsin Lutheran College.
“The new thing for 2009 will be a change in our format,” said Milwaukee South coach Ty Moseler announcing the event will be played as a ‘true classic’ with City Conference teams playing against a non-city team.
“It will not be an 8-team tournament,” said Moseler. “We couldn't find suburban teams that could commit to three games other than Arrowhead, so we went with each game being a City Conference opponent against a non-city team.”
Last year the City Suburban Holiday Classic featured four teams from the city playing four boys teams from the suburbs. A dozen games were played over a three day period with the tournament organized in bracket format that included consolation and championship finals.
The City / Suburban Classic will be Friday and Saturday, November 27 & 28.
