MILWAUKEE- The Milwaukee King girls basketball team gave a stellar performance against Milwaukee Bradley Tech Friday night.

The Lady Generals (4-2,2-0) normally have a great defensive strategy, but all of a sudden their offense started kicking into play.

Milw. King kept a lead over Milw. Tech the entire game with the final score, 65-33.

“We take it game by game,” King’s sophomore guard Raven Major said. Major scored majority of her points in the fourth quarter.

Generals’ senior guard De’Andrea Jones quickly made a 3-pointer shortly after entering the game, showing her true skills as a basketball player. Jones finished the night with four points.

King senior Jasmyne Reynolds led all scores with 19 points.

Shana Lee led Milw. Tech with 13 points.

Milw. Tech (3-3,0-2) seemed to struggle with scoring from the start, but kept the dedication.

“We did not come to play,” head coach Alina Cunningham said.

One thing Cunningham reassured was the Lady Trojans are young and filled with “freshies and sophomores.”

“We're definitely going to improve,” Cunningham said.

While the Trojans did not come out on top and Cunningham seemed a little disappointed by the loss, she noted being back at King made it all worthwhile.

Cunningham is a previous coach at Milw. King. She stepped down prior to last season to spend more time with her family and then accepted a job as head coach at Milwaukee Tech.

When Cunningham arrived at Milw. King High School athletic director John Nolan greeted her and welcomed her home.

Cunningham also has a friendship with King’s girls basketball head coach Craig Machut, and they were conversing before the game.

The true sportsmanship of basketball shined within the last three seconds of the game when Major held the ball until the time ran out, showing respect for Milw. Tech. There were no harsh words shared or attitudes after the game.

When going down the line, all the girls congratulated each other and that was the end to a great game.
