Milw. King girls notch another win at MLK Classic
Generals beat Minneapolis North 52-45

CHICAGOMilwaukee King girls basketball team notched another win at The Martin Luther King Classic at Whitney Young High School in Chicago.

The Generals (4-0, 7-2) beat Minneapolis North 52-45.

“It was a very quality win for the team to build on,” said head coach Craig Machut.

“We showed a real toughness and played well under pressure as a team both offensively and defensively.”

Milw. King jumped out to an early 12-7 lead in the first quarter, but only held a one-point lead at half, 21-20.

Senior Jasmyne Reynolds led all scores with 18 points, including three 3-pointers. Avyanna Young chipped in 13 points and Alexis Eckles finished with nine for King.

Monday’s win, followed the same format as a Sunday victory for Milw. King which beat Champaign Central of Chicago, 52-42.

The Generals return home and prepare for a City Conference matchup against Milwaukee Madison (2-1, 7-3) Thursday, Jan. 21.
