MILWAUKEE -Despite a rocky start the Milwaukee King Generals defeated Milwaukee Marshall in a City Conference matchup last night, 63-52.

The Marshall Eagles (2-2, 4-5) took control early and jumped out to an 8-0 lead, knocking down a pair of 3-point shots within the first two minutes.

The highlight of the game for the Eagles was the 11-point lead during the first quarter.

“We had them down we just didn’t know how to knock them out,” Marshall coach Troy Colman said.

“We played with a lot of effort we just didn’t play smart,” said Colman attributing the loss partially to the youth and inexperience of the team.

Colman added, he has confidence in the Eagles and hopes they play smarter in the future and learn to win big games, like those against Milwaukee King.

Kendale Nation led the Eagles with 11 points including a pair of 3-pointers.

King’s high scorer was Arroyo Edwards who finished with 16 points. Courtlin Scott-Johnson chipped in 11 points including a pair of key three-point shots.

The Milwaukee King Generals (3-0, 6-3) play Milwaukee Custer at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 22 at Milwaukee King.

Milwaukee Marshall takes on Milwaukee Bay View at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 22 at Milwaukee Marshall.
